Rocksound review of Bring Me Your Love.
Rated 9/10.
With this, Alexisonfire guitarist Dallas Green's second record under the city and colour moniker, the lean towards the storytelling language of the likes of Dylan and Buckley is immediately apparent. The dreamy and ethereal elements of 'sometimes' are toned down as the lap steel, organ, harmonica and shuffleboard drumming edge towards centre stage.
Because of this, 'Bring me your love' is a rough album, but one that somehow still contains all the beauty and wonder of his debut. It is a free record that discusses a wider palette of emotions using a wider palette of instruments. It would be heralded as a modern classic if he did not play in a screamy rock band that had songs about go-karting.
I didn't think much of the last part to be honest.
But here's another review.
