O.K. here goes:

you were here
you left
I never knew you would leave
I thought we were forever
I thought we knew
what lovers know
but you left
was it me?
what did I do?
I'm lost forever
I'm lost forever
and I'm sad.

A couple...
Pretty sucky

"Call it a wrestling match Charlie"

This is a strange feeling,
The rain it burns my skin.
Its meant to be refreshing,
Removing me of my sin.
Its just a lie thats been told,
From philosophical mouths,
Everything is grey and old,
I need to move down south.
But in the bitter pain,
Comes with a nicer light.
For my energy it does not drain,
I'm able to pick my fight.

I've been searching for my place,
For far way too long,
So I hope to fill the darkness,
With the rhymes of this song.
I try to stand and shout,
But nothing will come out.
I have these fists of steel,
That is how I bout.

Time isn't a friend.

Its so strange how fast time flys,
Before you've said "Hi" its time for "Goodbyes".
Only when your sitting down and thinking,
Do the full effects of time sink in.
Taking a journey never felt so long,
With you not there helping me along.
But now you gone and its over now,
Quick leave the platform its time to bow.
Your crowd is gone,
and its time for a good bye.

I've seen relationships but never my own,
It doesn't help when i'm so far from home.
This gaping hole like bullet wound,
Your heart is trapped inside a icey tomb.
I don't know why you had to go,
Its leaving my mind o'so low.
The fool is coming out and the mind is gone,
Hoping to repair you with the words of this song.

Now i've seen so many places its easy to forget,
How much i've missed your heart and all the regret.
I'm trying to stay strong but I weaken somehow,
Realising how much I loved you up to now.

Written both of them today, both need alot of work.

This is all some great poetry. I used to be able to write poetry, but my brain doesn't seem to run along those lines anymore.

I see a lot of good poetry here. Have any of you been published? I write when I can, but have only had one poem published.

I didn't write it of course, but my favorite poem has always been The Jabberwocky.

Aw, that's too bad. There is so much to love about it! My kids were not forced to read this one in school. They learned it from me. It seems that their school shies away from most of the classic literature that we were taught.

Apparently the classics are aren't politically correct, and shelting the one person who could potentially be offended is more improtant than learning about some of the greatests artists of the twentieth century..because nothing can be learned from people expressing why it offends them.

blech. Another thing I hate about the 21st century. This is alongside all the disorders that people can now claim they have so they don't have to take responsibility for their own actions. My kids read some of the classics and home and we actually talk about things in them together. Imagine that! Teaching kids about literature!
