All of these bands used influences to start their careers. Think about who the Beatles had to rely upon, and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers developed their own song, along with Chrissie Hynd and the Pretenders.
What influences the music you listen to? Lyrical or Instrumental alone. |

Not going to lie, but I love rap and hip-hop. I also love old rock lynyrd skynyrd sick, zep, allman borthers etc. Most importantly I love listening to Dallas now, along with some songs from his band Alexisonfire.

I do think rap gets a bad ... However, I'm not a huge fan of the overwhelming premise its contemporaries are creating. I too, am a big fan of lyrical context in music, take John Lennon for example; speaking about the times, society, life's ills and pleasures, and global appreciation (Imagine) with wonderful clarity.
The problem with rap to me is the penchant for sick, demeaning and objectifying lyrics towards women. There's just absolutely no need for that, and it ought not be tolerated, or supported for that matter. |

I have to agree about the lyrics not having good meaning sometimes, but I do like rap beats. I love bass. Thats pretty much why I do like rap as well.

If I had a knee-jerk reaction I would say that I don't like rap. Let me be more specific, I don't like rap that denigrates women, promotes violence,
(especially against police officers) and uses profanity, most specifically the "N" word. This is not music in my opinion |
