Default Live Theatre

I'm a teacher and also lover of live theatre. Talk about fabulous performances here, personal experiences on stage, broadway performances versus off-broadway, the fringe, actors or directors, anything and everything that rings true to the mind of an artist on stage.

I'd be willing to bet Dallas Green had a few roles in preparatory or elementary school.

I am very much into drama. My school had an awesome drama program and I was fortunate to be part of it. We paved the way for my school to be a 'gate way to the arts' school. We get put on a major play ever year in a real theater. It sells out every year, we do three nights of shows, two shows a day. One of the best things I've been part of. I got to be a lead in my 12th grade play. Since I've graduated and moved on to university (which unfortunately has no drama program) I miss drama very much. But I plan to join the fringe group at my school.

I love the theatre. I wish that more people would go and see a play instead of slumping in front of the television.

I did some Summer Stock theater many years ago. For anyone who has ever seen "Noises Off" there is a lot of truth in that play/movie.

One of my favorites was A Chorus Line, but on by a local theater. It was really well done. My first husband went with me and he about fell out of his seat when she started singing "T and A". I guess he didn't know about it.

I love plays, but it's hard to find ones that are really good. Los Angeles has a lot of plays, especially now that it's the holiday season, so I'm looking forward to attending some live shows.

oh this is exciting! Well for me. aha. I am going to be a stage manager for the fringe festival at my university. I was going to audition for a part but I don't want to get in too deep before I get a feel for the people involved.

My kids are perfect for the stage. They sing well, enunciate, a have a knack for being heard in the back row. None of them have the desire to actually work at it though. They've done some school plays, but they only want to do it if it's fun. In fact, my daughter with her incredible voice, has chosen auto tech class. Go figure.

I liked to do plays for school throughout elementary school, but when it came to high school, I was much more of a technical person. I worked backstage for a year and a half, but then kind of lost interest. Now my sister is more interested in acting.
