I might not have originated from ONLY Buffalo, it's defiantly one of the cities where it's most prominent now.

There's been articles written about it.

It didn't originate at all in Buffalo. Straight Edge originated in Washinton D.C. with the band Minor Threat. Hardcore arguably also started there with the band Bad Brains but there were bands playing a similar style in southern california around the same time who did more to build the foundations for the "scene" (i.e. Black Flag/SST Records).

I feel like an elitist douche, so I think I owe you an apology.

I agree with you that it hardcore didn't originate from specifically and only Buffalo. I do however believe it does have some part in contributing to the scene today. Buffalo may not have been the founders of the scene, but it is a place where hardcore is a common occurrence in and around the city. I guess that's what i meant to say. I probably shouldn't have used the word "origin" when trying to explain myself.

I do apologize though, for my lack of accurate information. =)

Hey guys, I may not have a hardcore scene [or any scene at all] in the town where i'm from.. but we DO have the country's largest man-made culm bank!!! I bet you don't even know what that is!!!
